Phone carrier locked
I recently bought and unlocked Iphone 7plus from best buy and when I tried to activate with my phone plan they told me it was locked to Tmobile, I was wondering if it was possible to check the IMEI ?

Yes, they sell phones that they incorrectly refer to as unlocked. That is because most people, including their own staff, do not know the difference and often do not care.
The new “unlocked” iPhones sold at Best Buy are sold under the U.S. Reseller Flex Policy. Such iPhones are not locked to a particular carrier at time of purchase, but will lock to the carrier of the first activated SIM card or eSIM.
