Macbook Messages Auto Close

Hi. My Macbook Air iMessage app automatically closes after an interval of about 30 seconds (if its opened. Even if it's not, the interval still counts down). In a previous Macbook version (when the icon was a blue speech bubble, not green) I was able to go into hidden files within the Library and delete files in order to make this auto close stop, however since I've upgraded to Monterey (with the message icon being now white with a green background) I am not able to find this hidden file and I am unable to stop this auto shut. As this is an education provided laptop, I'm pretty sure the file/code that was placed in the Macbook was added by the admin so that we couldnt use the application, but I want to disable the interval for personal use. Does anyone know where I could possibly find the hidden file to disable the auto close?
