HomePod says "Your iPhone is not available"

I ask my HomePod if I have anything on my calendar and she says, ""Your iPhone is not available". The HomePod has the newest update and my iPhone also has the newest update. Both the iPhone and the HomePod are on the same wireless network. Thanks in advance for your help.

iPhone X, iOS 15

Solved. The problem was that my wireless network was hidden. In other words, my router was not broadcasting the SSID. I created a new wireless network on my home router and broadcast the SSID. Now I can ask Siri to check my messages and she is able to do it! The HomePod was having trouble because it and the cell phone were connected to a hidden network.

There should be a reset button on the bottom, and pressing that gives you the option to restart or remove accessory. In your case there is just "remove accessory".

I would start with removing the accessory, and follow up with these instructions:

Press the top of HomePod to reset it

If you can't remove HomePod from the Home app, you can press the top of HomePod to reset it to its factory settings. Here's how:

  1. Unplug HomePod or unplug the power adapter for HomePod mini. Wait 10 seconds, then plug HomePod back in.
  2. Wait 10 seconds, then touch your finger to the top of HomePod and hold it there.
  3. The white spinning light will turn red. Keep your finger down.
  4. Siri will say that your HomePod is about to reset. When you hear three beeps, you can lift your finger.

Thanks for your help picas. Unfortunately, I was unable to restart the HomePod using the Home app. When I open the Home app and long press the HomePod a gear icon does not appear as you describe. Maybe we are using different versions of the Home app. I explored the Home app and looked around quite a bit, but could not find a way to restart the HomePod from within the Home app. I pulled the plug on the HomePod, but I'm still experiencing the same problem. Any further advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your help so far :)

Thanks for your help picas. I found the gear and tapped it. It gives me several options which are: Name, Room, Automations, Suggested Scenes, Music & Podcasts, Siri, Intercom, Accessibility, Manufacturer, Serial Number, Model, Wi-Fi Address, version, and remove accessory. Unfortunately, I am not seeing a way to reset or restart the HomePod. Thanks for your help so far :)
