renewing applecare option is not given to me -- it is within 30 days

Super curious and frustrated. My 2018 RMBP - 16 gb ram, 2.3 ghz, Applecare just expired; I took it in two weeks prior to have it all checked out and they told me to look for a renewal option after it expired which gives you another year, a year at a time, until you cancel. Never appeared. I called and was told Apple says you MIGHT be given an option and it wasn't given to me for my high end machine. What the heck MIGHT? We have so many personal apple products so it is not based on being a loyal/good customer. Love to hear some explanations that make sense. I have had zero claims! Anyone with my machine specs get offered a renewal?

Do you live where the coverage can be extended?

Extend your AppleCare+ coverage

If your AppleCare+ plan will expire soon, you might be able to continue coverage.

In Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States

  • If you paid upfront for an AppleCare+ plan for your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, you might be able to purchase new coverage that renews monthly.
  • If you paid upfront for an AppleCare+ plan for your Mac, you might be able to purchase new coverage that renews annually.

Purchase the new coverage within 30 days after your original coverage ends. To find out if you can purchase the new coverage, go to mysupport.apple.com and follow the onscreen instructions. The new coverage automatically renews until canceled.

Your plan coverage may continue beyond 24 or 36 months, on a monthly or annual basis, until canceled.

If you choose to continue coverage, your coverage will be subject to the then-current AppleCare+ Terms and Conditions.

In China mainland

If you paid upfront for 12 or 24 months of coverage for your iPhone or iPad, you might be able to continue coverage on an annual basis when the service period is over. If you pay annually, your annual plan will renew each year until canceled.

Within 30 days of the end date of your coverage, go to Settings > General > About. Then tap AppleCare+ Coverage Available and follow the onscreen instructions.

I did. They said Apple says you "might" be able to extend so they could do nothing since no option shows up for me to do otherwise. Sadly, the Apple store in person just said I had to wait til it expired to get the renewal option. It's been about 10 days expired. No options.

"If you paid upfront for an AppleCare+ plan.."

I will say the old Apple Care is different than AppleCare+

I'm sorry, maybe you need to re-read what I have posted. The effort has indeed been made with apple support to be told that if the option doesn't show up through 'About this Mac' - support tab, then there is nothing to be done, even going up the chain to a supervisor. I am asking why there are discriminate renewals being offered. I bought my daughter's 15" RMBP that expired a few months ago and the renewal option was indeed given after it expired and it has to be exercised within 30 days of which we did and I planned to do this month for my machine that expired recently. This option should be given to me as well.
