For duplicate contacts check the second link I sent you, but for the error message you see when you try to delete a contact take these steps to resolve it:
Go to Settings > contact > Siri & search > Show contact suggestions- turn off!
if that doesn’t work let me know to give you another steps!
Many contact are double, duplicate or split, some just duplicate and others several on one person.
In one case, see screenshot, it can’t be deleted, writers blocked. this was one off the typical contacts that have been turned in too several contacts, one with mail other with phone etc.
then it’s just ordinary duplicate, how to remove them effectively?
