Problem with Pages

When I click on Pages - whether in my Applications or on my bottom icon bar a window pops up.

With the usual sidebar. It indicates Pages is in iCloud Drive.

When I click on iCloud Drive - There is a Pages Folder.

I click that and there is a Page I click that and everything is available.

But I cannot do it directly from my Applications icon or bottom icon bar as I could earlier in the year.

I have to go through the whole proces of going through iCloud Drive

I have tried downloading pages again but it is the same story.
