I am unable to change payment method because my devices refuse to let me change my previous country, UK to current residence and billing address in Portugal. Also refuses to recognize Portuguese post code.

I have an upgrade for iCloud to 50 gb on my old iMac which is still on High Sierra 10.13.6, because Apple has so kindly made it obsolete by refusing to upgrade the iOS. The amount is usually debited from a card which has recently been replaced by my UK bank with a new one with longer expiry date. When prompted to add this as a new default payment method, I cannot complete the form, because it does not allow me to change my billing address from the UK to Portugal. Can’t find the way to change my region or country, so can’t change payment method and continue iCloud plan. Help!

You need to start with your Apple ID and change the country to Portugal. Everything else flows from your Apple ID.

Hi. Thanks for your answer, and I know you meant well. I had already gone through the process recommended on Apple Support about 10 times. It did not work. It refused to let me out of the loop so I couldn't change the region or country. Very frustrating. However, today I pretended I didn't know my Apple ID, managed to get back to the very beginning of the process. Reset my ID, found some choices that had NOT been offered before, managed to change my country, and after that, it was easy to change my payment method. I have to say, though, that just saying "Do it like Apple Support suggests" is pretty useless advice. I had to 'trick' the system and start over.
