Unable to Use Apple 2FA with Mail

I’m trying to add my Live account to the built-in Apple Mail app. The password field is automatically detected, and filled, but the 2FA field isn’t.

I can’t continue because the account is added from the Settings app and I can only copy the verification code from the same.

If I copy a code beforehand, it is expired by the time I get to the 2FA screen.

When adding a Gmail account, the 2FA verification field was automatically detected so this wasn’t an issue.

Is there any workaround for this?

Hi seyisulu,

If you'd like help signing into your Outlook account on your iPhone, these steps might help.

The amount of time you have to put in the code is controlled by your email provider. In your screenshot, do you see the text "Having trouble? Sign in another way"? You should click the link there and see if there are additional sign-in options there.

You may also be able to use Sign in to your accounts using the Microsoft Authenticator app for more help. lf you continue to experience issues after those steps, then reach out to Microsoft. They are the best people to reach out to for help with their product. Here's how to Contact a third-party vendor.
