I have imessage enabled but my phone never sends messages as imessages, they always send green. It’s not an issue with service as my daughter & partner have iPhones and can sit next to me and message in blue. What setting might be wrong on my phone?
Check Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Your screenshot shows only your email address and not your iPhone telephone number is available. Allow your iPhone telephone number to include this iPhone in iMessage.

Yup! I’ve tried it both with that enabled and not. I’ve also turned off iMessage and FaceTime, restarted the phone & turned them back on.
