there is no delete app option, it only lets me remove from home screen

how can i delete apps from my iphone12. all the recommended options dont work

First disable the Screen Time Restrictions, if any.

Settings > Screen Time > Contenet And Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases > Deleting Apps > [Allow]

There are six possibilities

Delete an offloaded App
Delete an App from the Home Screen
Remove an App from the Home Screen - Will be placed in the App Library
Delete an App from the App Library
Delete an inbuilt App - Not feasible
Delete an inbuilt App with one feature - You do not get any options either (e.g. Magnifier)
