Hi,
if you have any other devices currently signed in to iCloud Settings with the affected Apple ID, you can change the password in Settings > Name > Password & Security > Change Password.
Once changed, you can then enter the new password and complete the setup assistant as normal, or, after changing the Apple ID password on that secondary device, you can open the Find My app > Devices > click on the affected device > Remove from Account/Remove this device > enter Apple ID password > confirm.
This disables activation lock and removes the device from being associated to that Apple ID.
If you instead chose the second option, you will need to restart the device after disabling activation lock. Once restarted, you can complete the setup assistant as normal. You will not be asked for the previous Apple ID information.
If you do not have any other devices signed into iCloud Settings with the affected Apple ID, but you have the same trusted phone number, you can use the Support app to change your password by confirming a two-factor verification code sent to your trusted phone number.
If you do not have the same trusted phone number, you will need to set up account recovery online at iforgot.apple.com
Once you have regained access to the affected Apple ID, you can remove activation lock.
