iPhone 13 Pro Max sound cutting out during videocalls

Hi everyone,

I have a new iPhone 13 pro max bought in December form official iStore in Malta, and I started using it only in February. While during videocalls though I hear everyone fine, others have difficulties hearing me. The sound cuts out every 5-10 seconds, and it gets very uncomfortable to talk.

We tried several options to fix it, but still it's not working well. We restored the phone with iTunes, tried to update the iOS, and several other options. Could you please assist with this issue?

Are you experiencing this issue only when connecting using a specific app or on all apps like FaceTime, WhatsAp, phone…

If it's a specific application, what is it?

Hi,

I tried it in Whatsapp and Facetime, both had the same problem. It's not that the microphone is not working at all. But the sound is cutting off several times for the people who I speak with. And usually this is when there is other noises in the room (e.g. TV, other people talking). And this happens even more when putting the phone on the table while speaking, leaning on sth. It seems like the phone wants to do noise cancellation, but instead cuts the actual conversation. It is really uncomfortable as I am using this phone mostly for videocalls, and it is sometimes impossible to talk.

The iOS version running on the phone is 15.4. And recently I tried to factory reset the phone, but still the same issue persists.
