Earth day badge not showing up
Worked out for 30 minutes but went over into
The next day by an additional 20 or so (whole workout was around 50 minutes). Is this why the badge didn’t/isn’t coming through or are we still waiting?

That probably explains it. Workouts don't normally split between days. So I imagine you got credit for the entire workout on the following day and missed Earth Day completely. You might try restarting your watch & iPhone and see if that helps:
