Reinstall Yosemite on a Mac mini 2014

After deleting the hard drive on my 2014 Mac mini using my utilities feature I tried to reinstall original os via WiFi on that device. Instructions looked promising for Yosemite os but it stopped responding at the step before installing.

Is Yosemite still available to download from Apple?

ps: not sure if I chose the right macmini device (below) as I didn’t rename my new one when I transferred contents. Not sure how to change name for new one.

How to reinstall macOS

Follow these guidelines during installation:

If the installer asks to unlock your disk, enter the password you use to log in to your Mac.
If the installer doesn't see your disk, or it says that it can't install on your computer or volume, you might need to erase your disk first.
If the installer offers you the choice between installing on Macintosh HD or Macintosh HD - Data, choose Macintosh HD.

Thank you for your quick response. I may be off-line for a few days but will definitely let you know if your suggestions helped me solve the problem or not when I try them. The methods look similar to but not exactly what I did.
