Time Machine back-ups

I have a T7 portable SSD. Until 2 weeks ago I was useing it for Time Machine back-ups from my 2014 Macbook Pro. That machine died and I purchased a new 2021 Macbook Pro. I am unable to save the back-ups from my new Mac to the T7. Suggestions?

Time machine backup in built in SSD drive? Just purchased a new M1 MacBook Pro. WHAT AN UPGRADE from my 2010 MacBook Pro 😅 can I setup TimeMachine to save files to the existing SSD drive that comes with the Mac. This is temporary until I purchase an external drive solely used for TimeMachine. (I have not played with TM settings yet in BigSur) Thanks!

Not seeing time machine backup Ok, got new mac today, MacBook Pro 14. M1 migrating from MacBook Pro 16, 2019 i update time machine backup to external SSD this morning. new mac see’s the drive but not the backup. just get HD symbol and then continues to look for more sources. I have 2 time capsules but it bombs out of those as well. both machines on monterey 12.5 any ideas please as I can do wife transfer but this will take a day or more as there is 500 tb of data to move over.

The T2 Samsung Drive is connect directly to the new M1 Computer ?

In what Format is the T2 Drive formatted ?
