Exchanging Apple Watch strap

Hello, I brought my parter the Apple Watch series 7 45mm about two weeks ago for his birthday. I got him a strap that was one size too small and a colour I thought he might like eucalyptus but we preferred the darker green that was last seasons. Anyway I went to the apple store at the Trafford centre to exchange for the sport loop in midnight/eucalyptus, but they didn’t have any in Stock. We looked for other ones he may like and again none In stock. The assistant explained that we could get a refund on the strap and just order on line as they were in stock. He realised that the strap was part of the whole sale with the watch and couldn’t refund individually. He suggested I to get in touch with the team on line and ask if I could do a exchange this way? This isn't Apple Support, this is a peer-to-peer support community. I'm not sure where you'd stand, vis-à-vis a return, as Apple's sales policy (Sales Policies - Apple (UK)) clearly states that any intent to return an item "must be made within 14 days of receipt", and you're saying that you purchased the watch and strap about a fortnight ago, which likely means that you're now outside of that returns window. If you'd told the sales assistant at the Trafford Centre that they should have advised you that it could potentially be too late to return the strap.

The number for Apple Online Customer Service is 0800 048 0408. I would give them a call and ask (just make sure you go to the loo first because you'll likely be spending most of the day on hold!) if it's too late for an exchange. Moral of the story: next time measure his wrist first!

By the way, this is an international community. I know the Trafford Centre is an autistic person's nightmare in Manchester, obviously people from outside the UK may not.
