preview hangs after 2nd attempt @ airdrop

tried to share, turned on wifi, hung...see attached dump

hang on airdrop

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.13

Start with this...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes or more.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

nope, rebooted, still hangs on 2nd transfer attempt...it happens on both my mbp running 10.13 and on mbp running 10.15, so unlikely problem w/macs...i just tried xfer of a pdf & 1st attempt rings bell on iphone, but it's nowhere to be found, so maybe the problem is there...

nope, rebooted & still hangs on 2nd attempt, on both 10.13 & 10.15, so unlikely the same problem due to os...tried iphone->mpb no problem...also tried sending a pdf, iphone sounds but file nowhere to be found:-\
