are dropped "pins" in Google Maps app backed up in iTunes backup?

Hi all,

Obviously there is no way to "sync" dropped pins you've created in the Google Maps app of the iPhone, however, I was wondering if any saved "dropped pins" are actually stored in the phone backup through iTunes?

I have about 40-50 saved locations from my old Nokia S60 smartphones (Google Maps apps) and I'd LOVE to go through and manually add them all into my iPhone 4 but I'm not gonna go to all that trouble if they don't get saved in my backup in iTunes. I've searched the 'net and this forum and other forums and nobody seems to know the answer.

Could anyone help me here?

Thanks in advance!
Nick

When you drop a pin in the iPhone Maps app, you can then tap the blue arrow at the right end of the pin's label which gives you the option to save to your map bookmarks. Selecting that option will also allow you to rename the bookmark to something useful to you. The iTunes iPhone backup includes Map bookmarks, recent searches, and the current location displayed in Maps.
