photos suddenly don't transfer to iMac even with iCloud storage plan

Wondering why photos suddenly don't transfer to iMac from iPhone 11 even with iCloud storage plan. What should I do? Checked for updates, have plenty of room in iCloud storage... Thanks!

Hello HeartsTriumphant,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are trying to sync photos using iCloud Photos. Right? Make sure that iCloud Photos is enabled on each device. Further information can be found here - Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support.

Or are you trying to sync using a USB cable? If you already use iCloud Photos on your device, your photos can't be synced using a cable. Check out Sync your photos manually using the Finder - Apple Support if using this method.

Take care.

Hi

Do you have a sync status at the bottom of the all photos view? If so you may need to wait until it says "updated just now"

If not, first check that the library is set as the system library - the circled button should be greyed out. (Photos preferences) If it isn’t, click it.

Then check icloud settings are as shown.

Also make sure you have enough iCloud space for your whole library, and lots of free space on your mac and phone
