I cannot load linkedin via mac - however i try - it just hangs and won't load.. any suggestions?
For no apparent reason, on my iMac, LinkedIn refuses to load although on my PC I have no problem.

If you mean the website, try a different browser; I like Firefox. Safari's security requirements may preclude Linked website usage.
