MacBook not connecting to icloud

When I put in my information to connect to iCloud. All it does is display a text box saying. “Type your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices” and my iPad and iPhone show the code but the MacBook doesn’t have the number boxes displayed For the code.

If you see a password box, enter the password (ABC) followed by the code (123) or ABC123 (no spaces).
