Combining multiple drives together to create a single drive volume in rate zero on Mac?

I saw a video on YouTube by the eight bit guy where he combined a couple of 8 GB flash drives together in raid zero on his Mac using a USB hub. How does one accomplish this task?

Create a disk set using Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support
