Apple Pay is directly debiting my bank acct

Hello - I have 2 credit cards set up in my Apple wallet, and the default is my Apple credit card. Used Apple Pay last week and it did not charge either card. Instead, it took the payment directly out of my bank account. How do I keep this from happening again? Thanks!

iPad, iOS 10

Thanks for your response! I didn’t think I added my bank card, though - when I look in the wallet app, I see 2 credit cards and that’s it. I will log into the website instead of the app to see if I can spot it there. I have my Apple cc tagged as the default payment method there. I do think there should be somewhere in the app that would indicate if I have direct debit from my bank card set as default - am I missing something? Thank you!!

Apple Pay is the way to pay. It replaces your physical cards and cash with a method of payment that is private, easier and safer. Whether you pay in a store, on a website or in an app. This is the new payment.

it took the payment directly out of my bank account.

Yes, because you have added your bank card to Wallet as Apple Pay.

How do I keep this from happening again?

Don't use it.

If you physically use your bank card in a store, the amount will also be deducted from your account.

Use your bank card physically or via the iPhone (Apple Pay) is the same.
