This OS is causing me endless problems. Is this common with others? If this update buggy?
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

Troubleshooting a Frozen macOS & Update:
I. Learn from This:
First off, learn from this, knowing to always backup your Mac every so often, so that you a have something to restore your Mac from, for instances such as this.
II. Stopping the Freezing:
Three Things...
A. Boot into Safe Mode:
(Hold Down: the shift key upon boot). In Safe Mode, login items do not load at log in, certain System Preferences are set aside, and damages system files (caches) are fixed.
B. Re-Mount the Drive:
Boot into Recovery Mode (Intel or Silicon) . Then, using Disk Utility, see if the Hard Drive is seem. If it is, then see if you need to click the “Mount’ button for it. Try rebooting once more. If of no success, then click unmount button, and then the mount button. Try rebooting once more.
C. If Neither of the Above Works...
Reinstall the macOS:
Go Here: How to Reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support. Important: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more.

III.Provide your Feedback:
Do your Part: Inform Apple of your feedback. Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more feedback thy receive from its users, the more likely they will know what needs to be fixed.
Monterey forum area: macOS Monterey - Apple Community
No, someone else requested it to be moved to the Monterey forum area, which is just as viable as the MacBook Pro forum forum area. The key is that when you posted to the forum area designed for 12" Retina MacBooks, you may not get the attention that your problem needs. The options were available:
It is a Macbook Pro. My computer never froze before this upgrade to Monterey. My printer, scanner and bluetooth headphones don't work after this upgrade. And it freezes. Maybe the best fix is to downgrade.
I didn't even know that's where it went. It gave me the option of MacBook and then only offered Sierra OS as the second place. I never saw a Monterey forum and don't know how to post there. Can you advise me how I do that? Thanks
MacBook Pro, not a MacBook, they are not the same thing.
Upgrades and updates aren't the same thing too.
Your original posting was to the MacBook forum area for 12" Retina MacBooks. The only way that you can downgrade is if you made a prior bootable backup of your prior system.
It didn't give me many options of where to post. Should I repost somewhere else?
Start by posting from the most appropriate forum area.
I'm asking where that is. I have never seen a Monterey forum. How do I find it?
Thanks so much. I never saw that second option. I think I'm in Monterey now because when I go there, I see my question. I hope!
