Slang word interpretations using STT tech

Speech to text technology for the iPhone leaves a lot to be desired, especially using slang words like gonna instead of going to or wanna rather than want to. I noticed a lot of other people are having this issue. This is about the prioritization of words that iPhone or Apple is using. It can be changed rather easily, and I recommend that it be changed. I have been involved in speech technology for over 30 years, and blaming the speaker by saying that it was the pronunciation of the person speaking is not a good answer. So I am going to close with the recommendation that Apple make a change and put the higher usage rating on the proper grammar rather than the slang.

Provide Apple Feedback:

Do your Part. Inform Apple of this.  Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what bugs are occurring and what needs to be fixed. Question is: How many people have actually reported this on their own. Apple barely reads these forums as it is on their own time. So, report it to get the word out.

How to Give Feedback:

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for "Feedback Type"
  3. Inform Apple: of how you came across this issue, and how you've troubleshot it thus far.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary
