why does apple make it so difficult to set a geniusbar appointment

Why is Apple such a difficult company with which to interact? Who can explain their arrogance to naïve users? I just want to set an appointment at a local genius bar and it appears to be impossible, even though my tech support team is totally baffled by the exotic and outrageous performance of my stinking phone?
