Screen Recording=black screen / Hardware Acceleration off=choppy video

I capture video for actors to use in their demo reels. Recently, streaming sites have made it so Screen Recordings (via Quicktime and every other program I've tried) turn out black if Hardware Acceleration is turned on in the browser. If I turn it off, the video is choppy. What to do? Is there a work-around? Can I allocate more memory for graphics without using hardware acceleration? Any help is greatly appreciated!
