Safari not working at all on my wifi (works on other connections)

I have a strange problem. Safari on my computer works smoothly everywhere, except at home.

When I go back home, it either doesn't work, or it's so slow that it is useless (taking several minutes to open a Google search).

Chrome does not have a comparable problem – it works perfectly on any connection.

I have tried the usual troubleshooting (empty cache, block extensions, etc.)

It's a bit ironic because I have a fancy M1 and Safari is advertised as "the world's fastest browser" – yet it can't do anything on a 3000$ machine.

Any advice?

Hey Paco el Alpaco,

Since this is happening on your home network, let's make sure the router is using recommended settings for Apple devices:

While some devices may function OK, it's best to double check those settings to ensure all is set up properly.

If the issue occurs after using this article, let's try isolating this further. Can you try a test user account and see what happens? Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support

Hey Paco el Alpaco,

Those are some excellent steps that you took on your own already. Please also try these steps below:

Force Quit Safari ( command + option + esc keys). Then restart Safari holding the Shift key. This can help clear any app state that may cause this issue.

Also, try all the recommended steps from the article here: If Safari on Mac isn't opening a web page or working as expected

Keep us updated with the results.

Cheers!
