What can cause Ipad to no longer charge?

My new ipad Pro 12.9 inch Ipad will not charge. When I plug it into the charger it does nothing. I have swapped out the cords, the brick and I have plugged it into different direct wall outlets. I forced powered it off, Nothing. I reset it, Nothing. I even did a complete factory reset and still, it's not charging. I have had this device for a few months now and it previously charged without any issues. I have never dropped it, or mis handled the device in any way. What can cause this device to all of a sudden stop charging?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 15

Faulty battery? Other internal component bad contact? Charging port defective? We, just users like you, cannot diagnose that issue remotely, sorry.

But since your device is still covered by warranty, I suggest that you make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.

These support pages should help with troubleshooting battery and charging issues:

Charge and monitor the iPad battery - Apple Support

If your iPad won't charge – Apple Support

Troubleshooting generally requires substitution of the Power Adapter and cable for another known-good item. Be aware that most models of iPad require a Power Adapter rated at 12W or greater to reliably charge. 5W Power Adapters intended for older models of iPhone are inadequate to charge an iPad. Your iPad will likely have been supplied with a 20W USB-C Power Adapter - and this should be used by preference.

Recent anecdotal reports suggest that connecting an Apple 30W USB PD (Power Delivery) Power Adapter can “kick-start” normal charging behaviour.

If you continue to experience difficulties, you might be best advised to seek assistance directly from from Apple Support - and request a remote diagnostic test. You can contact the Support Team using the Get Support link at top-right of this page. Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad, Power Adapter and cable(s):
