Mac-studio not supported
Hi,
I get that message when trying to pair my iPad Pro with the mac-studio.
I’m signed up on both with my Apple ID; they both have the latest updates and nothing is blocked.
-any ideas?

Yesterday, I noticed that iCloud was still off.
After I turned it on, everything got solved and the iPad display appeared :)
i now can move my cursor over to the iPad.
Maybe Apple could make those instructions clearer?!
We are not all IT nerds - Just a suggestion ..
Thank you all for your help!!!

For file transfer no pairing is possible nor required.
You can use Airdrop from the iPad, or Universal Control which lets you move the mouse cursor from your Mac onto the iPad and drag an item back to the Mac. Usually these are files in the Files App or photos in the Photos that can be dragged over to the Mac.
Where on your iPad are these music scores exactly? If they are inside the Apple Music App, they cannot be dragged out from there.
If they are in the Files App as regular files, then they can be dragged over to the Mac.

Where exactly are you looking for the iPad on the Mac?
In System Preferences->Displays there should be a drop down button on the bottom left corner if it can detect any nearby devices.
Make sure both the Mac Studio and the iPad are logged in to iCloud with the same Apple ID, and the Apple ID is using Two-Factor Authentication. Link-> Universal Control: Use a single keyboard and mouse between Mac and iPad - Apple Support
Have you tried with the iPad connected to the Studio via wired connection?
I can't use my iPad Prow/Studio as a display unless I plug it in. If I try via wifi I get error that unable to connect, the connection timed out.
How are you trying to pair them exactly? They won't pair over bluetooth directly, nor is it necessary for most features.
What exactly are you attempting to accomplish by pairing them?
You can't pair them like that. It is not and never has been supported.
You can use airdrop to transfer files.
👍

Maybe this:
If you want your keyboard, mouse, or trackpad to control your Mac and iPad, with the iPad showing its own Home Screen and apps rather than the desktop and apps of your Mac, use Universal Control instead.

Hello.
thanks for replying!
Both systems are updated.
I can try safe mode.. but I just learned that the two devices won’t pair over Bluetooth.. that may be the problem..
Thanks for replying!
yes.. I was trying to pair them via Bluetooth…
I would like to copy some music scores from the iPad to the mac-studio, for example, so that I can work on them using Logic.
If you could assist on how to pair them, I would be very thankful.
thanks for this..
I followed the instructions but the iPad's display is not showing and there is no "add display" button on the Mac-studio's universal controller :/
I tried turning off the universal controller and handoff/cursor, turned the iPad off and put the Mac to sleep, but problem persists..
-any more ideas?..
Hi.. thanks for the suggestion.
I tried to connect both with a wire.. on the iPad I get the question: do you trust this device.
when I approve, nothing else happens and the iPad screen does not appear in displays.
Oh.. thank you very much for that…
-but how can I move the cursor between the devices, like I saw on a video?
thanks for your reply..
I am unable to see the iPad's display on the Mac-studio's universal controller..
