2019 Macbook Pro Temperature

Did Apple run the diagnostics remotely? 142 degrees F is to me, too hot.

If the diagnostics were run remotely, I'd recommend scheduling an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and let Apple test the computer in person.

You can try both—

Try resetting the SMC How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

(get at least two-three rounds of the chimes when holding the NRAM Reset)

try the charger plugged into the right side ports and any other in the left hand ports to keep separated.

—High demand apps like you photoshop kicks in the Discrete graphics AMD Radeon Pro 5500M and yes it can get warm.

If the mac gets too hot it will shut itself down.

third party software— like apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/Anti-Virus/VPN

all known to cause issues on the macOS. And I would uninstall and compare your results.

What do you mean 3rd party software which reads your temperature? What are you actually using to measure the temperature of your MacBook Pro? Try all the suggestions leroydouglas provided above and let us know. If you have VPN or any Antivirus software running remove them completely. They simply are not needed on a MacBook Pro.

Give a while and see how it operates now that SMC has been reset. And YES. Completely remove the Antivirus software.

Personally, I wouldn't trust the widget. The infrared guns in the link are pretty accurate.
