Apple TV slowing down in loading

I am on my 4th Apple TV, and I generally like it. I also pay for very fast internet speeds with FIOS. FAST. But with each new Apple TV box the change from 1 screen to another takes more time. The screen goes black for 2 seconds or more, I used my iphone and checked the time. It moves back to the previous screen slower than ever, to the point I think I have lost my signal. This is a fairly new Apple TV, maybe 8 months old. It is NOT hooked up directly to the internet. It is ONLY hooked up through my Apple TV and a HDMI cable. And that works well as I never get any "smart" tv reminders from Sony or Samsung. I also mirror frequently from 2 other Powerbooks. Did the latest update slow things down? It is noticable when I show friends how it works. And other people have also noticed that it is slower. The status bar is also sticking sort of, in that it will sometimes not work momentarily when I want to fast forward or go back. I have unplugged it and then restarted it, I have rebooted my router, I have run multiple speed tests. And it still pauses. My tv is a 4 month old Sony OLED, that has been checked and I am told it is in perfect working condition and processes signal correctly with no lag time. Any thoughts?

You may have a poor Wi-Fi signal where the Apple TV is located. Please use a tool such as iStumbler to measure your connection.

However first try:

  1. Unplug your modem from its power source for 2-3 minutes and please restart modem.
  2. Unplug your router from its power source for 2-3 minutes and restart router.
  3. Unplug Apple TV from Power for 2-3 minutes – re-plug in and retest.
