Apple wallet includes a random text number that does not belong to me.

While adding a credit card to apple wallet, the verification process shows two phone numbers I can use for verification. One ends in 9999 and does not belong to me and I'm concerned about how this number got into the process. Neither my apple wallet, or credit card account have this number listed. How to I remove it?

MSFlem,

We know how important it is to ensure that your account is secure. With that being said, we'd like to verify if you have the correct number showing in your settings as well. To do so, go to Settings > Phone > My number. If your number is listed correctly, we have some additional steps that may be helpful to take as well:

1. Sign in to your Apple ID account page. If you can't sign in or you receive a message that the account is locked when you try to sign in, try to reset or unlock your account.
2. Change your Apple ID password and choose a strong password.
Review all the personal and security information in your account. Update any information that isn't correct or that you don’t recognize, including:
• Your name.
• Your primary Apple ID email address.* If you need to change your email addressupdate the features and services that you use with Apple ID, so that each one is using your updated Apple ID.
• All alternate email addresses, rescue email addresses, and phone numbers.
• The devices that are associated with your Apple ID, if you've already set up two-factor authentication.
• Security questions and answers. If you think they might be easy to guess, you should change your security questions.
4. Check with your email address* provider to make sure that you control every email address associated with your Apple ID. If you don't control the email addresses associated with the Apple ID, you should change the password for the email address or use a different email address.
5. Set up two-factor authentication for your Apple ID. This additional security feature is designed to prevent anyone from accessing your account, even if they know your password.

No. The first thing I did was confirm the phone number does not exist in my apple or on my credit card accounts. That's part of the problem. I have no way to delete it because it does not seem to exist anywhere. I don't know where apple wallet is pulling the information from. It's just given to me as a choice for code verification, but there is no editing or delete options on that page and I don't know where it comes from. I've never had a number that ends with those digits. Any other thoughts?
