AppleCare+ Covered damage incidence use for glass face scratches

I went to the Apple Store today to have the scratched glass on my watch 6 replaced and use one of my 2 covered incidences with AppleCare+. I was told that scratches that are “minor” (no definition given) will not be fixed. Has anyone else had this experience and what did you do?
