Brightness and Face ID stopped working

My iPhone was beside me and it restarted on it own and my Face ID and brightness just stopped working 12 pro max

With that combination of faults it is in need of serious repair and that probably means a replacement Phone.

iPhone Repair - Official Apple Support

Or

 Contact - Official Apple Support

Anything other than Screen or Battery may be a replacement phone and the price out of warranty is in the article under "Other damage"
