Mail body does not match subject line in Apple Mail

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports), Monterey 12.3.1. When I click on a mail message, it displays the body of a completely different email. Tried rebuilding the mailbox but no change. This doesn't happen consistently, which makes it more annoying.

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)

intermittent issues/bugs are very hard to diagnosis or resolve.

You can try disabling these new features and test Mail issues loading content in macOS Monterey

Open mail app select Mail>Preferences>Privacy disable:

• “Protect Mail Activity” /

• “Hide IP address” /

• “Block all remote content”

Use Mail Privacy Protection on Mac - Apple Support

For problem accounts beyond your "rebuilding the mailbox" —the go to way to sort issue/anomalies out is to delete the account, then add it back.

Note—

• IMAP accounts stay on the server, so no local loss, when you re-sync

• POP accounts download and remove from the server—therefor save your inbox/sent box if you want them

• "On My Mac" is just that, local folders you created and moved mail into. So no loss
