Want to receive msgs on iPhone but not on iPad..:can I do this?

Disable the Syncing:
Messages are syncing on your iPad, through use of you iPhone. So, disable the syncing in Settings:
iPad:
- Go to: Settings
- Tap: Messages
- Turn Off: Messages
iPhone:
- Go to: Settings
- Tap: Messages
- Tap: Text message forwarding
- Turn Off: message for you iPad
