How to delete a contact which is read only

I think I solved the problem. I went to the contact of problem>edit> deleted all the info (may be unnecessary)>changed the name to X>delete contact the normal way. Went to contact>saw contact X>deleted it the normal way. Worked. Don't ask why. May be the contact name is embedded somewhere.

If you have a corporate email account added through a profile on your device, please check with your organisation's system administrator.
Interesting information. Now comes how to resolve the problem. Deleted the contact in my accounts Yahoo Google and iCloud. I also disabled Siri assuming it may have some effect. The contact is still in the iPhone. Not a big deal but would like to know how to delete read only contact
