Apple Photos has lost all the Albums
does anyone use this product? it seems totally useless

What has happened, before the albums vanished?
Did you just install a system upgrade? Or what has changed? Which version of macOS are you currently having installed?
Perhaps you have hidden the albums? You can hide all albums by clicking the disclosure triangle to the left of "My Albums" in the sidebar. There is a second hidden "Hide" button for hiding all albums to the far right of "Albums".
Sometimes it may look like all album have been hidden, if we simply have accidentally opened an older version of the library, for example from a backup drive, or if Photos could not find our usual library and has created a new, empty library.
