Partition map repair failed while a…structures to fit current whole disk size

what should I do next, and if it is to reinstall the OS can I do that with a copy on the Intel based MacBook Air? Thanks

Try these steps to describe your disk layout:


  1. Start up from macOS Recovery: Hold down Command-R as you power on or restart your Intel-based MacBook Air. Release the keys when the Apple logo and a progress bar appear, or when a spinning globe appears. You might be prompted to connect to Wi-Fi in the latter case.
  2. If prompted, enter your administrator password to continue.
  3. At the top of the screen, select Utilities -> Terminal.
  4. Type this command and hit Enter (Return): diskutil list
  5. Post the output here. If more than 7 disks appear, only the first 7 are needed.


Also, does the output provided match what you expected? If not, what would the expected output look like?
