Unable to delete mails in Apple mail

I always clean up and organize my mailbox daily. Since some time I am not able to delete some mails. It gives me the error: "The specified object was not found in the store., The process failed to get the correct properties".

So, I am left with unnecessary junkmail in my inbox. I searched over the internet, but couldn't find a solution.

Sometimes I work somewhere else, with outlook. In outlook the mails are gone and deleted. But not in apple mail.

I have an MacBook Pro 2021 with M1 processor.

Thanks in advance,

Hans Lijnbach

Not sure what that means "I always clean up and organize my mailbox daily" (?)

I clean up my mailbox manually on a daily basis. (archive mail and delete unneccesary mail). I have an exchange account, but always use Apple mail, except when I am out of office. And it isn't qualified junk mail, just mail I don't need to read. I just delete these mails manually. But since some time, some mails are giving this error and I am not able to delete them. (Or move them). Strange enough if I login with outlook, these mails are gone.

I am using macOS 12.4

I will try a few of your suggestions.

Thanks,

Hans Lijnbach.
