System preferences is busy and can’t be closed

System preferences is busy and can’t be closed….I am not sure what has happened to get me to this place…. My laptop, a MaC PowerBook started acting up the very evening I allowed an Apple Certified reseller access to my iPhone to replace the glass ….but on the other hand this was also the day after I made some modifications to accessibility options on my iPhone .and my laptop. Then reversed them all, I thought.

In any case, when I got to my laptop that evening, I couldn’t login so I had change my password. then the new password wouldn’t work either… I realize that the keyboard somehow was Vietnamese and the special character in my password was being transformed to a different special character! I changed both my laptop password and my Apple ID password…. My wife told me that my yahoo email account is barking at her about passwords, my MS passwords appear to have been changed and I found an extra profile in My google account. So, after changing my AppleID password, I Was asked if I wish to merge data onto ICloud. I said yes and I imagined that tat would take some time…. So after I tried to fix the Google profile issue, i came back to the messsge in the Subject line of this message when I tried to close the system preferences. “System preferences is busy and can’t be closed - Signing into apple Apple ID”. See attached. Help, please.

There is nothing attached.

That aside, it sounds like you have some sort of massive malware attack going on coming from many fronts; locally and internet. How are your accounts and such if you access from a different Mac? Or for that matter a Windows box? This is most intriguing if nothing else.

"then the new password wouldn’t work either" How are you making it work at all?
