Can't track stolen iPhone

A thief usually WILL take measures to prevent the device from being tracked.

You should assume that you’ll never see your phone again.

Go thru these steps but SKIP STEP 7:

(Step 7 will allow the criminal to reset and reuse your phone)

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support

IMPORTANT: In the coming days, weeks, and months, be VERY WARY of any messages purporting to be from Apple or the police stating that your phone has been found but needing you to provide “authenticating” info.

This is an attempt by the criminals to break-into your phone and/or steal your AppleID identity.

REVEAL NOTHING!

Even w/o it being on the map …

… can still use the drop-down of your devices and mark your phone as lost AND add a “recovery assist” message.
