Messages sent as SMS instead of iMessage

Getting a message that my iCloud and iMessage accounts don’t match, how do I fix this?

I'd start by turning of iMessages, waiting a minute or so and turning it back on.

Are you using the same Apple ID for Messages and iCloud?

Yes, I signed out and back in and now is working correctly.
