If I accidentally/stupidly clicked a link before realizing it was phishing, is my mac compromised?

Not very likely, unless in addition to clicking the link you provided any personal details, such as credit card or Apple ID information. If all you did was click the link and nothing else, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
