AppleScript permissions issue

I'm trying to use Automator and AppleScript to be able to insert the date and time with a keyboard shortcut. The AppleScript code seems to be correct, but I keep getting this error.

This is my Automator workflow :

That is the keyboard shortcut I'm trying to use. What am I doing wrong? Is there any other way to achieve this?

The problem isn't with your workflow, per se. It's that your script doesn't have permissions to interact with other applications - it's a security feature.

The solution is to check System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Privacy. Under the 'Automation' section you need to make sure that Automator/System Events is listed (and checked).
