Hi everyone, after updating to iOS 15.5, there's an unknown app that appears in my iCloud settings on my iPhone 11 Pro. I completely have no idea what is it related to and hope it's not any malware or fishy apps. I've always used my iPhone safely and did not download any apps outside of the App Store. Would appreciate if anyone could advice on this issue.

In the screenshot provided, it appears that this app is no longer on your device. The icon no longer appears there, which tells us it has been removed.
When we look on our devices, we are unable to see this app listed in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud. Which also tells us this may be related to a specific app you've purchased in the past.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap your name, then tap Media & Purchases.
3. Tap View Account. You might be asked to sign in.
4. Tap Purchase History.
5. Your purchase history appears. Tap Last 90 Days, then select a different date range.

Out of curiosity, do you have restrictions enabled?
I’ve erased and reset my phone but the app is still in settings. In fact, I did not purchased anything through the App Store or bought any in-app purchases lately and this is my personal phone. I have no idea what app or service its related to. Hope someone can give a detailed explanation on this issue. Thanks for the reply anyways! Appreciate it!
Assuming that iOS has a pretty good security system, how could such apps even came about when I only install apps from the App Store. I seriously hope it’s not malware. Anyways, thanks for your response.
Hello, same here. Unknown "Setup" item with no icon in iCloud settings on my iPhone 13 running iOS 15.5 as well as on iPad 5th gen running iPadOS 15.5. I can see it on my wife's iPhone 13 as well (again iOS 15.5). Since it's placed among iOS/iPadOS apps in the list i assume it is some system "thing". Reasonable explanation appreciated.

Any update on this? I have the same app. It resurfaces after a while even if I reset the phone. Is it something used by iOS during the installation of the OS?

Ok. I do, so I guess thats not the reason then.
The setup app showed up again on my device after a week of not installing or changing anything. Starting to suspect it’s malware.
Could also be a bug in iOS 15.5. Some leftover artifact after some internal setup process. Hard to say.
Ever since this problem occurred, did you experience any battery drain or device overheating issues?
I have found this on my iPhone 13 pro and my iPad Pro too.
