New iWatch , it didn’t come with a usb plug

Apple Watch 7 - purchased at the Apple Store on Thursday. USB-C at one end, and watch charger at the other. Not very useful for planes, hotels, and cars.
(Similarly, my Ipad Pro came with a cable that had the USB-C at both ends.)
It comes with a charging cable but not the charger itself. You can use an existing charger if you have one or you can buy one. Apple and other manufacturers no longer ship chargers with their mobile products in an effort to reduce electronic waste. Some countries have even mandated it.
What is crazy is that the connector could start as USB and they chose not to. Now millions of hotels rooms, airports, airlines, cars, businesses and homes around the world now or will so have obsolete connectors. That is a much, much bigger waste. Soon they will all have to, for example, remodel hotel rooms with the new connectors. How much e waste will that create?
Cable that came with my watches (2, 4, 7) is USB on one end.
What is on the the end of the cable that came with your
watch? What version watch do you have? Can you post
a photo of the cable showing both ends?
