Computers vs Devices in iTunes

I am confused over the different designations. ITunes says I have 4 computers authorized but only 2 devices are listed; and they are my iPhone and iPad.

That is the same as what I see. It may be due to the following from View and remove your devices that are associated with Apple ID purchases - Apple Support

When you subscribe to Apple services or buy content from Apple, the device that you're using automatically becomes associated with your Apple ID.

In other words, authorizing in iTunes does not add the device to the associated devices. I have authorized my computer but I have not used that computer to subscribe or to buy content.

Thank you. I had read the two support articles beforehand. The MacWorld article was informative. It did point out (indirectly) the “issue I am confused about. In his example 4 computers (3 Macs and 1 PC, as well as mobile devices) were listed under Devices. When I look at my Devices I only see my iPhone and iPad, not my authorized computer..
