Apple-generated password - how to access it?

The other day, I updated my Google password, using Apple's automatic generation technology.

When I do so, I note that only part of the password is shown, no doubt for security reasons, but there's been a downside: I also have a Windows laptop and an Android phone, and now I don't know where to view the password. on my macbook air M1, I just use the fingerprint button and I'm good but, again, where can I view the password, if at all?

Hi guycruls,

Unfortunately, iCloud Keychain is exclusive to Apple devices. Your Android phone and Windows computer cannot access it.

To make it easier to access your passwords, in this case I would recommend moving away from iCloud Keychain, and using a third-party password manager instead (such as BitWarden, which is open source).

Most password managers require you to create a master password. Use a strong, but most importantly, memorable password. Or, better yet, use a passphrase (an easy sequence of words to remember).

EDIT: To view your saved passwords on your Mac, look in one of these locations:

In System Preferences -> Passwords

In Safari -> Preferences -> Passwords

Thank you for your feedback.

I did the password update on my macbook and I have access to google on my macbook but on my other devices, and so it seems to me that the automatic password creation option is indeed Apple technology.
